As a means to depict my self portrait in both a bizarre and distinctive way, I referred to Chinese contemporary artist Minjun Yue's self deprecating pink laughing man to represent the body of my painting. Enthusiastically, it not only helps fortify the tension of the human figure but also provides a strong narration beyond a mundane self-portrait.

Creating a funeral tower of condolence gift for myself becomes a way of negotiating struggle of cultural displacement. Beyond the function of life education, it visualized that I am saying good bye to my former self-identity, cultural identity, and facing the fear of physical death.
By creating a tower of condolence gift for my own funeral, I envisioned the circumstances of my funeral ceremony before the actual occurrence in reality. As shown in an idea of narrative installation, the self-aware condolence tower acts as an cultural heritage that not only reflects the funeral practices in Taiwan but also suggest how secular commodities, such as beverages with various flavors and dollar bills, have lost the functions for the one who has passed away.
